While mastering cannot rewrite individual instrument stems, real analog transformers and tube circuitry physically alter peak transients and add non-linear warmth. This effectively masks digital quantization noise and phase smear far better than any digital plugin can.
Automated platforms run basic digital algorithms with preset EQ curves. They cannot "hear" digital phase harshness, nor can they introduce physical analog saturation to smooth out synthetic artifacts. They make raw AI tracks louder, but rarely better.
